Malton

Malton is a market town and civil parish in the Ryedale district of North Yorkshire, England. It is situated on the River Derwent and is located about 13 miles east of York and 15 miles northwest of Scarborough. Malton has a population of around 8,000 people. The town is known for its market, which dates back to medieval times and is still held on a weekly basis today. Additionally, Malton is also known for its food scene, with several local food festivals taking place throughout the year, as well as a variety of independent food producers and specialty food shops in the town.

The town also has several historical building like St Michael's Church, which dates back to the 12th century, and the ruined Kirkham Priory which dates back to the 12th century and is now managed by English Heritage.
